Colonel Stratton was born 12 August 1968 in Missoula Montana and has lived in the Alaskan communities of Barrow, Fairbanks, and Anchorage.  He currently resides in Palmer with his wife Lorena and two daughters Sabrina and Katrina.  He graduated from Service High School in 1986 and enlisted in the Alaska Air National Guard in February of 1988 as a C-130 propulsion system specialist.  Colonel Stratton received his commission from the Academy of Military Science in October of 1990 and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage in December of 1993.  He is a command pilot, qualified in both the C130 and C17, and has served in a multitude of operational and support positions within the Alaska National Guard.
